A true drifting legend is no longer with us today. Atsushi Kuroi was in a motorcycle accident last night, and wasn’t able to recover from his injuries.

I can’t imagine how big of a shock this must be to a lot of people. My sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends.

I still haven’t forgotten the first time i saw his onevia seemingly disappear in a huge cloud of smoke, he’s definitely one of the original s13 masters.

Rest In Peace, Kuroi.

FITMENT ISSUES?!?!?

I finally track down a R1/R2 strut bar for the FD and might not be able to use it.  It is so close to the throttlebody elbow that if the engine torques while driving it will hit it.  I may have to make a spacer plate for the top of the strut towers 1/4″ taller should clear.

I think it might be a bit TOO close.

i think it might be a bit TOO close.

with this year’s season quickly approaching, all i can think about is making my 86’s first full season a rad one.

right now i have 14×7-9 konig rewinds, which are fine up front, but i seriously need to step it up in the rear. upon talking with tyler from team rowdy, apparently to play with big boy fitment, i need something around 8.5-12. i’m assuming he means in 15s, so i’m not sure exactly what that translates to in 14s (we’re talkin big ass sidewalls here), but i figure if i get some 14×8/8.5 in zero or lesser offsets, i’ll at least be in the ballpark.

so i’ve been scouring bidjdm for the past couple weeks, and it seems there are some decent deals out there. i’m just kind of cringing at the thought of paying for shipping from japan at this point.

i like almost every style of oldschool wheel, so that doesn’t matter much, as long as the lip is huge. i found these today.. time to start saving money!

as you can see, i’m adding a little team section over on the left side of the blog, so people who don’t know us so well can put names to faces. so i was asking the guys to send in pictures of themselves and cars that they would want to be in that little section.

well.. nate’s girly, jess, was kind enough to send me some while he was at work. what a sweet girl!

this is apparently one of nate’s senior pictures. he begged me to delete it. so, naturally, i made a post of just the picture. sorry buddy! i feel i’d be doing the community a disservice by not posting this!

so dreamy!!!

So pulled my engine the other day!

Shit was nasty and greasy as fuck,…bought some degreaser and went to town.

This is all cleaned up,…kinda

Then i got the wiring all out of the engine bay and threw the fire wall for further elimination and re-lombing

its so empty i love it

This is all the wiring:

then a lil’ something for the G

wiring isnt really as bad as i thought it would be.

as long as you keep track of what everything is and keep it all organized,.. its actually fairly simple.

I just cant figure out now the easiest route to go from here.
1.) Where to relocate the fuses and relays
- i was planning on the glove box, but a couple other areas might work too.
2.) How exactly to go about extending the wires that need to go into the engine bay.
- Should I just have one harness that goes from the drivers side and wraps around how the stock one was.
pros- easier to do and keep track of.
cons- gonna be a tight fit in the core support with the tony mount,..not sure how to extend towards the passenger side.
–or just divide it, things on the drivers side and things on the passenger side.
3.) which way to reroute the alternator, starter, ignition, grounds.
have a few ideas,. dnt feel like tyyyyyping any mor,…….

ahhhhhhhhhhh

ok,. maybe this shit is driving me crazy

finally got a bit of non-hectic daylight to take a picture of the carnage. for those who don’t know, i wrecked the miata a couple weeks back, the whole front end is pushed back, including my new mishimoto radiator, ouch.

i’m in the process of parting it out. she had a good run, lots of events, lots of dings, bumps, and even a few slams.

on the bright side, i’ve been working on the 86 coupe, and it should be back on the road very soon!

anyways, i hope you all have a happy festivus!

thanks for checking out our blog, and we hope to bring you more drifty stuff next year!
