Control Freaks

kinda weird, but it’s been a while since we’ve hit a local event. the evening started out pretty well with everyone excited about getting a new area to drive in for our… somewhat monthly “midnight madness” event at gateway international raceway. i think everybody got a couple good runs but by the middle of the night the course got shut down a few times for reorganization and what not. between all the waiting between runs, and a lot of people damaging their cars on bumps, quite a few people called it an early night.

anyways, here’s the pictures.

my corolla freshly painted.. as sad as that appears, i seriously rolled on spray paint in the parking lot because it was chipping all over the place. that’s hood style for ya.

dangerdan uh…. i dunno, the dude’s kinda strong.. and crazy.. soooo we pretty much don’t make fun of him.. as a result, he does really weird shit and gets away with it.

this is our friend chris crane’s d-truck. before you go hating on the project, the dude actually bought a wrecked s14 and made it into this. no pretty nissans were hurt in the making of this drift car =p

shawnshawn wrote this on my miata’s tail light i don’t even know how long ago, and somehow it’s still there.

and our boy mike absolutely murdering tires.. bumper all fallin’ off, i love it! also, he finally got his hood stripe, kind of a team tradition ever since dangerdan did it a while back.

overall a decent event, sorry to all the people whose cars were messed up on the crappy sections of the course x.x but apparently we’ll be in yet another new spot next time, so it should be better!

had a great time this past saturday at drift indy round 2 in converse, indiana! the dudes running the event and everyone in general were really cool and laid back. i had some trouble trying to do the really high-speed sweeper in my miata, but jarrod and dan did awesome, qualifying 4th and 3rd respectively, and dan got to tandem, and ended up getting 1st place! what!?

it was really hard to keep parking the miata in these cool positions all day without people yelling at me… nahhh i was actually driftin’

don’t recall this dude’s name, but he was really nice, and had a cool car, and drove it well, and had a cool dog.. what’s not to like?
