Grabbed another ride with Atlanta’s Heat Lightning dudes, this time only a few hours away from me at Midpond in Alabama. While I have a couple drift-ready cars at the moment, I’m feeling like I should wait to get a new job before I go blowing money on driving, but at least I can still make videos with these guys!
I also actually got a chance to drive Johnny’s WILD 1JZ LS400, I’ll make another video with that footage in the near future.
Feels good to get outta the house, man.. especially to rip around a go kart track!
Atlanta has several drift teams full of cool dudes, one of whom is Heat Lightning, a second home to Austin, an oooooldschool bud from the days of the DriftMechaniks forums. Heat Lightning is helmed by Johnny, a laser-focused and helpful dude whose goal is to maintain a team of drivers with similar cars that rip together, and honestly he’s killin it! I’ve always wanted driving with friends to be the focus of my drifting, but having everyone drive similar cars is that next level of clever.
Anywho, I made this video to capture a bit of the trip and more than a bit of the driving, enjoy!

Did some skids w/ the Rowdy boys a few months back, and made a vid w/ my neat new 360 cam!
For those who don’t know, Jarrod and I have been grandfathered into Team Rowdy upon moving down to Atlanta, since we’ve been hangin’ with those dudes since the days of the DriftMechaniks forum.

I’ve been tired of not having heat/ac in my drift car for a while now. Too old for this shit XD Sooooo I’m swapping over all my cool stuff to my ShawnShawn’s former daily driver. As you can see, I did a mixture of OEM aero this time inspired by Zoom Up and Moccomans S14s.
Shawn, Stein, Patrick, Jarrod, and Jeeeeeeeff came to help/talk shit this weekend, we got a lot of stuff done but naturally broke a couple of things too, so I’ll have to overnight parts from China. Hopefully we’ll get the engine in and running next weekend, so exciting!

After almost half a decade, we finally got to drive another event at Nashville Superspeedway. I need to drive more, as my driving here isn’t really up to my standard. Oh well, I had a blast anyway!

Id like to give an official welcome to our newest members of the team.
Everyone say hi to Steven Fishel and Charlie Quatmann.
Charlie has been around as long as I can remember. Riggin his super rad SC400 and even his old Tacoma around the states with us. Venturing out for Gridlife and Final Bout to even competing in the MDU and State of Drift series. That still hasnt kept him from loading up and making the hike just to drive in a parking lot all night for our local events.
The same can be said for Steven. Streeting his s13 and s197 Mustang, he’s had perfect attendance all around the midwest for years. winning State of Drift last year, and already currently sitting on the podium he’s no stranger to competition either.
These guys place consistently because they drive every chance they can. Its easy to forget why we started throwing these shitboxes around sometimes. The drive and spirit that these dudes possess is quite refreshing,. and that’s why we asked them to join.
